Giving Back to the Local Community
The Fremont Elks have partnered with Team Depot the charitable organization division of Home Depot, twice now for our local Major Project. Once in 2016 and once this year in 2017. Team Depot chooses a non-profit organization every year and has selected the Fremont Elks to partner with them to help our veterans. They provide all of the supplies and manpower from the local stores in the local area. In 2016 the partnership had a group of about 60 Home Store personnel from about 10 stores and 6 Elks who went out to the Livermore Veterans Home and did a beautification project in Livermore, CA. Cleaned up their planting area and planted new plants and put in mulch. Cleaned up their bocce ball court, put in mulch all around the location and various other projects on the property. It was a whole day we spent out there helping our Vets. This year they selected one particular couple of vets that were in the Navy and fixed up their home in Union City, CA.
